Choose the method
Before any instrument comes out, answer three questions: what tolerance the job needs, what the environment is like, and what format has to be delivered. Those answers decide the method better than any preference.
Combining is usually right
Many projects use a drone for coverage, RTK for control and a total station for detail under trees or against facades. What matters is that everything ends in the same coordinate system.

Aerial work without measured ground control produces a model that looks convincing and sits in the wrong place.
