Before the first peg

Check a known point and confirm the coordinate system. A misplaced peg becomes a misplaced wall, and no app repairs that.

During stake-out

Approach using distance and bearing guidance until you are inside the agreed tolerance. Do not settle for "about here" when the specification asks for centimetres.

After driving it

Photograph the peg with its surroundings, note the deviation from the design value and store everything in the same project. That record is what defends you in the later discussion.

Protect it from the machines

Pegs in the path of plant do not survive a day. Mark them visibly, or offset the point to a protected position and record the offset so the original can be restored.
